“One Day On The Road” Book Review by: Juan, Colleen Gabrielle

Temistokles Adlawan or should i just say tem adlawan he is the author of the story “one day on the road” Tem Adlawan was born on Dec ,21 ,1930 in Naga Cebu. He is one of the major fictionists of cebu. He has written poetry, short stories, and novels, or subjects ranging from rural to urban his style varies from the collequial irreverent manner of his highly humorous stories to the fluent imagery and poetic evocation is thought- provoking narratives. late, Nov 17, 2009, he was an award winning author of cebu.He died at the age of 79 by drinking hemlock. I really like this story because it gives a lot of lesson that we should apply in our life because nowadays people live there life to the fullest and not minding what other people will think of them but i get them because life is short and we only live once so let’s live our life like it is the last day of our life but we shouldn’t forget that not all will understand us because whatever we want we should not forget other people because in the story they’re tricycle drivers so they should drive carefully and safely to their passenger’s destination or else it will cause a lot of trouble the author tells us to think first before doing such things. Before we regret things we won’t forget. I rate this story 10/10 because i was really shocked on how the author explains the story differently and on how he gives us knowledge about it and to think clearly on something whatever  the situation were.  I recommend this story because the author reached his goal. To give moral lesson to all of us. Let’s take care of our life because god gave us life to experience how beautiful his creation was

The Green Sanctuary by: Juan, Colleen Gabrielle

Antonio Reyes Enriquez is the great author who wrote the “surveyors of the liguasa marsh” or also known as the “Green Sanctuary”. Sanctuary means “Safe heaven” he was Born and raised in Zamboanga City He has been published in his homeland, the Philippines, and regarded as the first Filipino fictionist writing in his homeland to break into foreign publication with his short story collection, “Dance a White Horse to Sleep and Other Stories,” and Carlos Palanca grand prize “Surveyors of the Liguasan Marsh”both published by UQP, Queensland, Australia, the latter in 1977. His short stories have been translated to Korean, German, French, and Chabacano.i t was his fearful and unforgettable experience in Liguasan Marsh in Maguindanao that likely started his career as a novelist Liguasan Marsh was the setting of his first novel, “Surveyors of the Liguasan Marsh.” However, his “happiest and most memorable times” in his grandfather’s land in a coastal village of Labuan, west of Zamboanga city, which encouraged him to write about farmers, fishermen, and the common folks. The Green Sanctuary is set in Pikit, Cotabato the things that I won’t forget in the story is where vehicles is not allowed to pass or go near pikit. These vehicles will go to the nearest bus stop to drop the passengers inside the vehicle. And the passengers will walk barefooted until they reach pikit to make  this story short in pikit cotabato was a closed city were no one can go out and go inside maybe it’s for safety purposes to avoid any incident i rate this story 9/10 because it gives a lot of knowledge to know more about different places and how they manage and the fact that this story is very interesting and impressive to know such things so I’m giving a heads up to this story
